Building on a DREAM

The WOW Center, previously known as Community Habilitation Center, was founded in 1972 by a small group of parents facing the reality that their children with developmental disABILITIES did not have many options for continued education and development after high school.

WOW today is a 501-C-3 Non Profit organization that currently supports and serves close to 200 adults with developmental disabilities (Autism, Cerebral palsy, Intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, Prader- Willi syndrome, Spina Bifida) from Miami-Dade County who range in ages from 21 to 75+.

Through 50 years of experience, incredible campus programs, on-site therapies, WOW Work Experience (internships and supported employment), and community events, WOW is on the frontlines of empowering adults with developmental disABILITIES and opening doors for inclusion throughout Miami. You can play a major role in this mission and vision.

In the last year, The WOW Center has taken more than 100 intake calls with individuals interested in attending WOW. Due to capacity limits, individuals have been added to a waiting list. Right now there are more than 50 individuals waiting to attend WOW.
There are adults with developmental disabilities that need us, that need you, that are unaware of the potential they can reach. It’s heart breaking to turn down families because of capacity limits – we’re ready to make the space for them.

WE ARE LAUNCHING A CAMPAIGN TO FUNDRAISE FOR AN EXPANSION OF OUR WOW CAMPUS THAT WILL CREATE THE NECESSARY SPACE TO BUILD ON THE DREAM!
